Responsible and accountable for assisting with the nursing care of patients in the operating room by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of practice and policies and procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse. Serves as scrub nurse and second circulator with primary circulator as a Registered Nurse. Responsible for stocking, replenishing, preparing and/or selecting supplies and equipment for use or standby during surgical procedures. Assists with housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness in the operating room in order to ensure a safe patient environment. Maintains competent scrub technology skill level to ensure provision of safe quality patient care. The Scrub Technologist follows the philosophy, mission, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of Mercy. Qualifications: Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications: Education: High School graduate or equivalent Graduate of surgical technology program Experience: Working knowledge and competency in basic procedures as defined as: general procedures, GYN, ENT, Urology, Orthopedic procedures (i.e. ORIF anke, ACL reconstruction, knee/shoulder arthroscopy, CR with or without pinning), and Plastic procedures.
