Job Description:
The Safety Specialist manages and monitors the company's safety
program in their assigned area of focus (DOT/FMCSA or OSHA) and
evaluates safety practices. They inform employees and managers
about regulations, collect relevant data, and create reports to

- Effectively evaluates, monitors, analyzes, and identifies
safety policy compliance and non-compliance issues in the assigned
focus areas and resolves them in a timely manner.
- Manages internal and external compliance reporting, providing
compliance advice and assistance, conducting compliance
investigations, and managing ongoing education programs in the
assigned focus areas.
- Assists in the development of safety training and tracks
training compliance.
- Monitors and assists in ensuring compliance of all safety
regulations in assigned areas of focus (DOT/FMCSA or OSHA).
- Tracks, analyzes and reports key safety metrics in assigned
area of focus.
- Reviews accident reports and investigations for determination
of cause and preventability.
- Develops and maintains written policies and procedures that
comply with regulatory standards and promote the company's loss
prevention efforts.
- Coordinates safety programs to assist management with
compliance with all regulatory and company safety rules along with
the development of loss prevention programs such as safety
committee development and preventative maintenance.
- Supports other department initiatives that further the mission
and goals of the company.
- Teamwork and cooperation are required for proper job

- Education: Associate's Degree (2-year college or technical
school): Preferred
- Experience: 2 plus years of experience in Occupational or
Transportation Safety
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access,
