UK Job Description Description The successful candidate will provide business development support to the global Real Estate practice group and the associated attorneys across the Reed Smith platform. You will be responsible for proactively coordinating and implementing business development activities, internal and external profile-raising efforts, and supporting practice group strategies across the Firm. The role requires the ability to work autonomously but also collaboratively within a larger business development team, strong organisational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and utilize available resources. We are therefore seeking a resourceful and dynamic candidate, who possesses excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver a high level of customer service. The position is based in London and sits within a global and energetic firm-wide business development and marketing team of professionals. You will be managed by the Business Development Manager based in Chicago. Teamwork and collaboration are key in this role; you will need to be mindful of time zones and delivering coordinated BD support to the Firm---s Real Estate lawyers in the US, UK, and Europe. Please note that this role is a 6 month fixed term contract. Responsibilities Developing and maintaining well-rounded understanding of Real Estate lawyers and Real Estate-related sub-practice areas Working on inbound and outbound cross-selling opportunities for Real Estate lawyers Supporting potential relationship expansion opportunities with specific client targets Working on new proposal opportunities and be instrumental in delivering a strong first version document for the partners Working with other business development colleagues on cross-practice pitch opportunities and panel reviews Assist with lateral joiner onboarding and integration Preparing and updating practice-related materials (practice group profiles, deal/matter case studies, CVs) Utilizing the Firm---s CRM tool for new business and profile-raising opportunities, distribution list creation and maintenance, tracking Real Estate progress and encouraging secretaries, associates and partners to use CRM for more effective relationship mapping Collecting matter information and updating firm databases with significant cases, including those from directory submissions Management of the internal group newsletter, creation of social media reports and working with our internal communications team to boost the profile of the Real Estate practice and communicate key information to the wider Firm Managing client alerts and thought leadership campaigns, ensuring that all content is fed through to relevant blogs and social media accounts Updating lawyer and practice group information on the Firm---s website and intranet page Working closely with global colleagues to develop an international approach to BD Coordinating practice group projects and acting as a liaison point between the design and events teams with respect to client events and webinars Working with the PR team as needed, on practice group PR initiatives and profile-raising Liaising with Client Intelligence and the Business Insight Team to produce financial reports, analysis and research on clients, prospective clients, and organisations Collating information on clients and producing briefing notes for partner conferences, speaker events and/or business development trips/client meetings This job specification may continue to evolve according to the needs of the Firm.
