every table? Position Description Reporting to the Department
Manager, the Supervisor Sanitation is responsible for following
cleaning and sanitation procedures for the Refresco plant. This is
a critical role that ensures a clean and safe environment, ensuring
compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting
overall operational efficiency. Essential Job Functions: Adhere to
and ensure compliance to all health and safety policies/procedures,
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal
protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production
areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety
glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes,
appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating
forklifts). Adhere to and ensure compliance to food quality and
food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer,
and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF). Works closely with Plant
Management to maintain cleanliness standards, increase efficiencies
and yields and eliminate damaged products. Leads and directs the
work of other employees. Have some authority for personnel
decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
Determine priorities for cleaning either through directions
provided by the Quality Manager or through consultation of the
Master Sanitation Schedule. Directs employees in sanitary and
pest-control procedures. Directs cleaning of equipment and work
areas. Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
Conduct routine inspections of sanitization equipment, processes,
and facilities to ensure compliance with company standards and
regulatory requirements. Confers with management and employees on
sanitation problems and recommends changes in equipment, plant
layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve
sanitation standards and purity of product. Perform thorough
quality control/concentration checks on sanitization products,
including disinfectants, detergents, and sanitizing agents, to
verify efficacy and safety. Prepare production equipment for
cleaning and follow Refresco lock out/tag out procedures when doing
so. Confirm proper sanitation by monitoring printouts of CIP
systems (manual or electronic). Maintain accurate sanitation
documentation and ensure the proper completion of Master Sanitation
Schedule daily. Compiles required reports regarding regular
inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve
deficiencies. Mix required chemicals in according to chemical
supplier recommendation. Operate all equipment when needed for
cleaning correctly and complete all chemical concentration
monitoring as described in Standard Operating Procedures. Complete
accurate inventory counts and keep equipment and chemical storage
areas clean and tidy. Store all chemicals and equipment properly.
Provide training to new employees or as needed to other employees.
General maintenance of grounds. Responsible for overseeing a team
of employees that perform general plant upkeep including activities
such as vacuuming and mopping of floors; cleaning and sanitizing
bathrooms and breakrooms; trash removal. Responsible to ensure all
supplies are properly stocked. Stays informed about industry
trends, regulations, and best practices related to sanitation and
quality assurance. Complete special projects and other duties as
assigned by Management. Required Skills: Working knowledge of
Excel, Word, and SAP preferred. Exposure to using measurement tools
and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM machines)
preferred. Organized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.
Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Ability to
apply statistical methods to analyze data and identify trends. High
level of precision and accuracy in inspection processes.
Familiarity with ISO, Six Sigma, GMP, and other relevant standards
and regulations preferred. Understanding of Food Safety
Requirements. Able to read and understand metric system. Prior
experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.
Competencies: Technical: Skilled in maintaining accurate and
detailed records of inspections and tests; familiar with OSHA
standards and other safety regulations. Integrity: Commitment to
maintaining high ethical standards in all quality assurance
activities. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing
production environments and requirements. Communication: Clear and
concise communication with Sanitation staff and management.
Education and Experience: Highschool diploma or equivalent
(bachelor’s degree preferred). 4 – 5 years of experience in Quality
within a manufacturing environment preferred. Working Conditions:
Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and nights
may be required. Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced
production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require
hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or
relatively cold (laboratory is temperature controlled). The
environment is structured and supervised. Travel Requirements:
