Job Description Job Description Civil Defense Attorney Civil Defense Attorney - Farmington, MI A leading Michigan-based civil litigation firm is seeking an experienced Civil Defense Attorney to join its Farmington office. The practice represents insurers, corporations, and self-insured entities in a wide variety of defense matters, including auto liability, premises liability, construction defect, product liability, and complex coverage disputes. Salary & Benefits: Base salary range: $120,000 - $140,000, depending on experience Performance-based bonus opportunities Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) retirement plan with employer contribution Covered CLE, bar dues, and malpractice insurance Professional development, mentorship, and advancement opportunities Qualifications: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in Michigan 2 years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Experience with depositions, motion practice, discovery, and hearings Ability to manage multiple files independently and meet deadlines Trial experience is preferred but not required Responsibilities: Defend clients in a variety of civil and insurance defense litigation matters Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties Represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials Work collaboratively with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management Maintain proactive communication with clients, insurers, and internal teams Ensure compliance with litigation guidelines and reporting requirements - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
