Job Description:
At Walmart Inc., as a Principal Software Engineer focused on
backend systems, you will lead the design and development of
large-scale backend services that support our vast retail
infrastructure. Working at the intersection of technology and
retail, you'll have the unique opportunity to impact the daily
lives of millions of customers by enhancing their shopping
experience through innovative technology solutions. Your role will
focus on optimizing systems for scalability, reliability, and
performance, while mentoring a team of engineers and collaborating
with cross-functional units to drive forward our technical vision.
Design and develop high-performance backend systems and
architectures. Optimize existing backend systems for scalability
and reliability, ensuring seamless customer service. Lead and
mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance and
feedback. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate
backend systems with other corporate infrastructures. Ensure
compliance with the latest industry standards and best practices in
backend development. Collaborate with product management to
understand business requirements and translate them into technical
solutions. Regularly review and analyze performance metrics,
proposing optimizations as necessary. Expertise in backend
programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go. Strong
understanding of database management and caching mechanisms.
Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Platform. Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker
and Kubernetes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance
401k Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification
preferred. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Cloud
Professional Cloud Architect certifications are advantageous.
