Job Description:
To maintain clean, sanitary, attractive and safe rooms and
furnishings in the assigned work areas, following established
policies and procedures and utilizing approved methodology and
solutions. To assist the department and hospital in meeting state
and local health codes and hospital quality and accreditation
standards through procedures which insure acceptable standards of
quality and cleanliness. Duties include routine cleaning of
windows, walls, floors, fixtures and furnishings; disposal of
ordinary and contaminated refuse; disinfecting of contaminated
areas; bacteriological surface cleaning; pertinent infection
control procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Responsible for ensuring cleanliness of the entire facility.
Completes assignments with little supervision. Demonstraties
flexibility in carrying out job tasks. Reviews and reports
condition of furnishings, drapes, carpets etc and reports any
problems to Supervisor. Identifies and reports any safety
hazards.
