Job Description Job Title: Psychiatrist Location: Farmington MO 63640 Duration: 3 months to long term Shift: 8hr./10hr. shift (M-F) Note: Must have, or be able to obtain, Missouri license Job description: 1) Patient Load for full-time – average 40 patients (2 wards) – required to be seen monthly and as needed (daily not needed unless on special precautions) a. Legal status of patients – NGRI, VBG (voluntary by Client), PIST (permanently incompetent to stand trial), VBG formerly PIST, SVP (sexually violent predator) b. Most Common Diagnoses – Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Substance Abuse Disorders, Paraphilias c. NGRI and SVP status require court ordered conditional release 2) Complete patient visits/notes – at minimum - monthly summary, during the month as needed, annually, on admission and discharge a. Diagnosis and treatment including medications, therapy, referrals and consultations as needed 3) Participate in weekly treatment team meeting/ward (consists of nurse, psychologist (or designee), social worker, pharmacist, recreation staff, primary care physician, and dietary staff 4) Cover as Psychiatric Officer of the Day (OD) 2-4 times per week (coverage is split into 2 shifts/day/M-F of 7am-12pm and 12pm-5pm - on-call takes over after hours) 5) Hours – 40 hours per week a. No on-call required – No weekends or holidays required, unless you would like to work on-call b. On-call offered, coverage for medical and psychiatric needs – Physician on premises 24hours/day, 7 days/week – receive additional pay 6) Admit and discharge patients – we are a long-term facility so average patient stay is longer (average several months not days) 7) Participate in meetings as needed (6 times per year medical staff meetings, as needed with teams to discuss patient concerns, case consultations, special staffing, etc.) 8) Other duties as credentialed may include – supervision of psychiatric services and coordination of other treatment modalities, supervision of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, initial treatment planning, comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment planning, Individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy in Family therapy, Behavior therapy, Substance abuse treatment, evaluation for guardianship, conditional and unconditional release evaluations, and court testimony All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
