Title: Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Clinical
Professional Specialty: Cardiac Ultrasound Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5-8s Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM Experience: Six (6)
months of related experience License: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac
Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from
the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). OR
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular
Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International
(CCI). Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Epic Documentation; Epic
Systems Description: Responsible for diagnostic cardiac or vascular
ultrasound. Provides measurements and accurate images of cardiac
structures for diagnosis. Provides immediate feedback with
preliminary reports of critical results to facilitate life-saving
treatment interventions. Assists physicians with studies and
complex procedures to decrease procedural risks. Demonstrates
correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in advanced cardiac
and/or peripheral vascular procedures. Performs adult and/or
pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures including TEE and stress
echo. Reviews relevant patient data and reports before procedures.
Operates equipment necessary to perform required procedures and
obtain optimal diagnostic recordings. Utilizes ancillary devices
such as selected transducers and digital networking systems.
Exercises appropriate judgment in notifying abnormal results to the
reading physician. Documents data according to departmental and
institutional policies. Collaborates in maintaining departmental
efficiency. Anticipates needs in equipment and supplies. Uses
resources wisely to assist in cost containment. Able to schedule
patients efficiently. Supports unit and institutional goals through
quality assurance and educational activities. Maintains current
competency and registry in specialty practices. Participates in
departmental quality assurance and national accreditation
processes. Modifies behavior to meet changing departmental goals.
Complies with departmental and institutional policies. Maintains a
clean environment and practices infection control. Promotes safety
for patients, visitors, and personnel. Maintains confidentiality
for patients, employees, and physicians. Collaborates effectively
with all members of the healthcare team. Utilizes independent
judgment in decision-making from diversified alternatives.
Coordinates activities of others without supervision. Works
directly with patients and internal customers. Engages with
healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with
individuals at the director level or above. Requirements Required
