in healthcare. About the Role: The RN, Float Pool position is
designed to provide flexible, high-quality nursing care across
multiple departments within the hospital. This role requires
adaptability to various clinical settings, ensuring patient safety
and comfort while maintaining continuity of care. The nurse will
collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient needs,
implement care plans, and respond to changing patient conditions
efficiently. By floating between units, the RN supports staffing
needs dynamically, helping to balance workloads and maintain
optimal patient outcomes. Ultimately, this role is critical in
enhancing operational efficiency and delivering compassionate,
patient-centered care throughout the organization. Minimum
Qualifications: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in
the state of Oklahoma. Graduation from an accredited nursing
program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced
certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Minimum of one year of
clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Strong
knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and
healthcare regulations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience
working in multiple hospital units or float pool roles. Familiarity
with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Demonstrated ability
to manage diverse patient populations and complex clinical
situations. Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to
patients in various hospital units as assigned, adapting quickly to
different clinical environments. Assess patient conditions, monitor
vital signs, and administer medications and treatments according to
established protocols. Collaborate with physicians, specialists,
and other healthcare professionals to develop and update
individualized care plans. Document patient information accurately
and timely in electronic health records to ensure continuity of
care. Educate patients and their families on health management,
treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Respond promptly to
emergencies and changes in patient status, initiating appropriate
interventions. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety
standards, and regulatory requirements across all assigned units.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to
stay current with best nursing practices. Skills: The RN, Float
Pool, utilizes critical thinking and clinical judgment daily to
assess and respond to diverse patient needs across various units.
Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating care
with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients and families
effectively. Adaptability and flexibility enable the nurse to
transition smoothly between different clinical environments while
maintaining high standards of care. Proficiency with electronic
health records ensures accurate documentation and supports seamless
information sharing. Additionally, time management and
organizational skills are vital to prioritize tasks and deliver
efficient, patient-centered care in a fast-paced healthcare
setting.
