Job Description:

**Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit Nurse**

A highly skilled nurse is needed to provide close monitoring and nursing care for patients with high acuity cardiac and respiratory conditions.

**Job Responsibilities:**

• 
  
• Monitor and care for patients with chest tubes, cardiac drips, and other life-sustaining devices.
  
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on the latest medical advancements and technologies.
  
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families to promote optimal health and well-being.
  
  
  **Unit Details:**
  
  • 
    
  • Patient population: high acuity cardiac and respiratory patients.
    
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1 or 5:1.
    
  • Number of beds: 25.
    
  • Unit assistant-to-patient ratio: 9:1.

      **Qualifications:**

      • Graduation from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
        
      • Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
        
      • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card and ACLS and BLS certifications.
