  Overview:
  
  The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians and other providers with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks.
  
  Qualifications:
  
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year work experience in a public contact job.
  • Certifications: Must maintain CPR certification.
  • Knowledge:
    --- Knowledge of health care field and medical specialties.
    --- Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families.
  • Special Skills:
    --- CPR, EKG and Blood Pressure skills; basic computer knowledge; communication skills.
    --- Skill in performing assistance tasks appropriately.
    --- Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
    --- Skill in understanding of patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families. Abilities:
    --- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
    --- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.
    --- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks.
    --- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
  • Preferred Education: Completion of MA or CNA training program consisting of classroom and clinical training.
  • Preferred Experience: Prior direct patient care experience.
  • Preferred Certifications: Credentialed as a CMA, RMA or CCMA or other approved MA credential.
    Preferred Other: Experience with EPIC
