JOB SUMMARY:The Buyer works with the Purchasing Manager to negotiate vendor terms and prices and schedule delivery, using knowledge of budget and schedule requirements.WHAT WE OFFER:Climate Controlled Work EnvironmentCompetitive PayPaid Vacation, Holidays, and PTO401k and 401k MatchMedical, Dental, and Vision Benefits with FSA availableEducation, Safety Equipment, and Gym Membership ReimbursementCompany Paid Life InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability CoverageJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Write and Issue purchase orders to vendors daily to ensure an appropriate supply of raw materials and components to support manufacturing activities based on customer demand and planned forecasts.May be assigned to check MRO purchase requisitions for appropriate approval, enter purchase orders, and place purchase orders with appropriate suppliers. Also, disseminates order ETAs with requestors.Establishes account/credit and terms.Expedite open purchase orders, when necessary, to meet the needs of manufacturing activities.Keep informed of all new developments relative to materials and supplies.Maintain accurate and organized records and files for the purchasing function.Review invoices and compare with receivables for accuracy and maintain data in Sage 100.Track open purchase orders and deliveries to ensure on-time delivery from vendors.Track and process purchase order confirmations to ensure that purchase orders are accurate and that vendors can support our needs.Uses knowledge of material work planning and methods, engineering processes, and procedures to coordinate product deliveries.Works closely with Accounts Payable to coordinate and track pre-payments and international wire transfers.Works closely with the Receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrive.Work docked orders still unreceived.Work packing list and backorder qty issues.Log all price increase notices to the Purchasing Manager for processing.Develops, improves, and adheres to purchasing policies and procedures.Perform physical inventory cycle counts as needed on key items.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating to get along with vendors, clients, co-workers, and management.Complies with environmental and safety acts in compliance with U.S. laws, as well as corporate guidelines on business ethics.Ability to use Microsoft Office, MS TeamsKnowledge of Sage 100 and Sage Inventory Advisor a plusOther duties as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Understanding of supply chain and its role in a short lead time manufacturing environment.Attention to detail, committed to quality.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ethical Conduct.Technical Capacity.Collaboration.Time Management.Business Acumen.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelors degree preferred.CPIM, CPM, or other supply chain certification preferred.Minimum of 2 years of purchasing related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.TRAVEL PERCENTAGE: None, 0%PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
